I recently heard some grumblings around the blog world that there existed yet another fitness DVD with EXTREMELY SHORT workouts. Since I am a sucker for a short workout, a workout where you don't really sweat too much a workout that I can fit into life as a stay at home mom, I opted to buy it and give it a try.
VERDICT: Highly recommend!
The lowdown on 10 Minute Solution: Fitness Ball Workouts is this: If you do the whole DVD, you have a full body, 50 minute mostly low-impact strength and flexibility workout. However, I prefer to only leave my ass-dent in the sofa for 20 minutes at a time and do the Core workout and the Upper Body workout. The first time I did the Core workout I was sore from stem to stern for three days. My abs were twitching and achy which means WooHoo! Excellent workout! I also felt fantastic! The exercises are simple and fast. I didn't get bored. Plus, I got a fabulous muscle toning workout.
The best way to maximize the effects of these exercises is to combine with cardio. So, do some treadmill work, add a ten minute workout or two, alternate Core, Cardio, Upper Body, Lower Body and Flexibility and you'll be fit in no time.
Kimberly Spreen is the instructor and I didn't find her too annoying (my husband did find her to be nails-on-a-chalk-board, kick-in-the-nuts, chest-hair-waxing levels of annoying), although she chatters away the entire time about how she loves to workout and every exercise is her favorite!, her body isn't Jillan Michaels-perfect, so I'm not too intimidated. I found that the first time I did the workouts I was watching her a lot to get the right form which just left me with a kink in my neck. The second and third time I knew the exercises well enough to just do them without watching the TV for proper form.
Available at AMAZON, Average Retail Price: $9.99

I thank you, my muffin top thanks you, and the assdent in my couch thanks you.
